S1 E20 - Connections

It’s proving time! Felicity is applying to be an assistant manager. Unfortunately, Danny, the inept employee at Dean & Deluca, rejects being fired under her charge. Fish has a hot take about Abby and Danny’s relationship.
Felicity and Noel are confused about being just friends, and Noel getting a summer internship in Berlin is about to raise the stakes.  Richard is now Noel’s temporary roommate, thanks to a broken heater!
Meanwhile, Ben is hitting rock bottom with his gambling and getting the quickest beat down in the history of the world. Ben and Julie's relationship is more tenuous than ever. Ben finally asks for help...from Felicity!
We have zero tolerance for McGrath trapping Elena into this icky professor-student relationship.
And finally, we wonder: Which one of Melissa or Fish would be the better eyewitness?

S1 E19 - Docuventary

It's the first documentary-style episode of Felicity, and it gave us a chance to witness all sorts of fun new character interactions we wouldn't have otherwise seen!
We see how difficult it is to get Ben to talk, but he does reveal that his parents have split up. Noel and Felicity finally start to think about the idea of exploring - just maybe - what the future of their relationship might look like.  Sean and Meghan meet!
In happy news, we get to learn notable details about beloved characters like Richard, Guy, and Lynn (who stops being an enabler to Ben). Noel tries out hypnosis, yet Elena is still serving him looks.
In gross news....McGrath.
And as the Ben vs. Noel debate rages on, Melissa and Fish take their temperatures on the matter again.

S1 E18 - Happy Birthday

Melissa and Fish are reeling over the introduction to Walter and Faye, Meggie’s parents!  Melissa does her best imitation of Walter, and we revel in the comedy that comes from Meghan giving Felicity the box for safe keeping.
Fish explains the classifieds and the entire plot of Escape (The Piña Colada Song).
Felicity and Noel are starting to own their respective parts of the breakdown of their relationship as Noel plans to move.  But Felicity makes a speech that gets him to stay!  In other news, Carol comes back.  It turns out, she is Julie’s mother – the first of many major reveals Carol makes to Julie.  Bum bum BUMMMMM!
Ben is going down a slippery slope with gambling.  Plus, hear an entire in-depth tangent about actors eating or not eating food in scenes.  We’re looking at you, pizza!

S1 E17 - Assassins

It's the aftermath of the Noel and Felicity's break-up and Felicity's night with Eli, and tensions are running high. We are asking some big questions. Should anyone get the blame for these events? Does this change how we see Noel and Felicity? What does forgiveness really entail?
We give one more ode to Eli, and we reminisce about the actual size of freshman dorm rooms.  We are amused by Sean's pursuit of a librarian and Richard now going full friend-mode with Noel.
What's happening to Julie and Ben's relationship now that Ben is with his swim buddies all the time?  We have thoughts.

S1 E15 - Love and Marriage

This was a big themed episode, complete with Javier proposing a green card marriage to Felicity and Noels brother, Ryan, revealing that he is gay...and in a serious relationship...and planning a commitment ceremony.
This episode leaves so many characters reeling. Ben's hair net leaves us reeling.
Plus, Ben starts swimming and makes it onto the swim team all in one episode!  There may have been some urgent story lines that came out of nowhere in this one, but it did gift us Lynn, Ben's new swim buddy, and we are thankful.

Here we are, two friends talking about "Friends." With this episode, we waded into a conversation about the nature of Julie and Ben's relationship and how much of a protector role Ben needs to be in right now. Julie thinks she has found her biological mom and decides to go deep cover as an intern at her possible birth mom's architecture firm to get to know her.
Felicity sees Blair cheating on Elena - that scoundrel! - and it launches our own philosophical discussion about what to do when you know a secret like this.  We confuse ourselves with definitions of honesty, lies, and white lies, but we right the world again talking about Noel's side quest for new vending machines for the dorm.

Felicity comes back from holiday break, and she's decided to score! Fish and Melissa unpack Felicity's 11-step process for...not having sex.
"Gimme an O!" was a sex education class in a Felicity episode, covering everything from getting tested for HIV to contraception to buying sexy underwear and how-to books. It also serves as a great backdrop to talk about feeling societal pressure to have sex and feeling you're ready vs. thinking you're ready.
We're talking about the slow burn of Julie's relationship with Ben and Elena's mysterious gift from Blair.  Plus, Fish comes for the sheep that produced the wool that was used to make Felicity's hat!
